I have a special personal feeling for your father. I was introduced to jazz by a friend of mine and this first contact was an album of Jimmy Raney, and I am pretty sure it was Duets, with Doug.
Jimmy is my first influence and , still now, at 65, I regulary come back to him and try to transcribe a solo.
I saw him play with Doug, Erik Ineke and Jasper Lundgaard in Paris (where I lived) at the New Morning in the 80’s : this is a fantastic memory!
Thank you for this website, it touches me very much, specially the family context.

After thinking about it, I remember the first jazz album I purchased was “Stolen moments” , not “Duets”, but with Doug too.
