Jon Raney

Many of you might be surprised that my actual profession now is in IT as a Salesforce Administrator, but hey that’s life! I play now mostly for enjoyment in my apartment on my Yamaha keyboard. I’ve dedicated a new tab to these little keyboard musings here on my site. However if anyone is looking for my ensemble samples of my playing, below are some things.

Rough mix tracks from unreleased studio demo:

Loose Ends

Bella Bossa

En Route

The Thrill of Your Kiss

Musicians:

  • Eliot Zigmund drums (all tracks exc The Thrill of Your Kiss)
  • Jon Raney piano, keyboards
  • Ed Fuqua bass (all tracks exc The Thrill of Your Kiss)
  • Tatum Greenblatt trumpet (Bella Bossa, En Route)
  • Dan Greenblatt tenor sax (Bella Bossa, En Route)
  • Mario Rodriguez electric bass (The Thrill of Your Kiss)
  • Todd Isler drums (The Thrill of Your Kiss)

Collaborations:

Audrey Silver, Vocalist

Audrey was originally in my jazz workshop classes in the late 90’s. Obviously her talent went way beyond the classes! I began collaborating and arranging for her after that. These were recorded in the early 2000’s but I still like them very much and love Audrey’s beautiful voice and relaxed phrasing.

Musicians: “Star Eyes” Audrey, me, Ed Fuqua (b), Eric Halvorson (d), “You Are There” with Jay Leonhart (b), Ronnie Zito (d)

You Are There

Star Eyes

My Shining Hour

Waltz for Talia album is still available on Amazon. CD Baby abandoned its Digital mp3 Download service.  It is available on most streaming sites for free (YouTube, Spotify, I Tunes, etc.).
